Daylight Savings

Daylight savings is killing me! One day I left work a little early and finally got to see the sunset!


October was a really hard month for me. I was stuck in a creative rut  and trying to figure out some weird health things so I was a lot of fun* to be around. (*Note heavy sarcasm) And then I started the Ketogenic diet the week of Halloween, so that was… interesting.


But good news is, the first week of November has already been way way way better than October! The transition to the Ketogenic diet has been going pretty well (besides the candy I ate on Halloween… and drooling over people’s desserts on Instagram). And I even have an outline for my second draft, so I’m hoping to start on that in the next couple of weeks!


It’s been pretty quiet around here lately, but I’m kind of ok with that. Sometimes I go through phases of wanting to write just for me, and none of it really seemed right for a blog post. I’m trying to give myself permission not to be super rigid about my blog schedule. That being said, I have some ideas I’m really excited about, so I can’t wait to share those with you!

I’ve been having some issues with keeping cut flowers alive for more than 2 days, but even I can keep carnations alive for over a week! This cute arrangement looks a million times better than what I’d been doing.

I’m one of those people who stresses about being a mom — even though I’m planning on waiting at least two years to have kids. So I really appreciated reading 3 surprising things about being a mom. The possibility that having kids could make my anxiety better instead of worse was MINDBLOWING.


Since the Ketogenic diet focuses on lots of good fats (olive oil, avocados, etc.) protein, and low carbs (mostly from veggies), I’ve been daydreaming about making pie even more than I used to. I’m looking for an excuse to make this bourbon pear crumble pie because it looks so fun!


What have you guys been up to this weekend? I was a busy bee yesterday — I did meal planning for the week, went grocery shopping, did laundry, and did some prep work for later this week. Whew! I’m tired just thinking about it! Today I’m planning on having a laid back Sunday and ignoring the fact that it’s Monday tomorrow. I hope you guys have a great Sunday and a fun week ahead!
