Weekend Thoughts / 36

Sometimes you just need to read an old favorite.
Sometimes you just need to read an old favorite.

Hey everyone, what are you up to this weekend? I’m crossing off an item on my fall to-do list and going to the Texas State Fair. I’m probably munching on something fried while I wait in line for the Ferris Wheel. So much fun!

Here are my favorite links for the week:

The broccoli cheddar soup is my go-to order at Panera, so when Deb posted a recipe that has more broccoli than cheese, it got my attention. I’m thinking soup + salad night next week!

Did you read Ruth Reichl’s interview on Cup of Jo? It was such a good read! I loved her story about the steak sandwich.

I’m not quite at the editing stage yet, but I’ve been bookmarking all sorts of articles for when I get there. John Adamus made a lot of really good points about the importance of having an editor that isn’t you.

Joy’s bucket list recipes are so fun. I loved that I’m not the only one who has a bunch of recipes that are super intimidating. Doughnuts and layer cakes are at the top of my too-scared-to-cook list.

Sarah wrote a post about how her choices aren’t a commentary on mine, and vice versa, and it BLEW MY MIND. So empowering! And a good reminder if you’re going to have lunch with your vegetarian friend or your opinionated grandma sometime soon.

I hope you’re having a fun fall weekend! Stay warm and dry if Hurricane Joaquin comes your way!
